Action Lines, Signs & Civil (Action LSC) is an Australian specialist road infrastructure contractor delivering line marking, safety barriers and guardrail, bridge maintenance, sign manufacturing and installation, road furniture and minor civil works. The business was formed by combining established regional specialists in each of those disciplines into a single operating platform and is part of the Altus Group. Action LSC works from seven depots across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and South Australia for state road authorities, principal contractors, councils, utilities, defence and airports.
Why was Action LSC formed?
Consider the shape of an ordinary road upgrade. One contractor installs the guardrail. Another manufactures the signs, and often a third installs them. A fourth handles the bridge joints. A fifth returns at the end to mark the road. Each carries its own mobilisation, safety management system, insurances, documentation pack and lead time. Each is scheduled around the others.
The industry has treated that as normal for decades. We do not.
The losses rarely appear inside any single trade. They appear in the gaps between them. Line marking cannot go down until the barrier crew is off the shoulder. Signs cannot be installed until someone else has poured the footings. A guardrail repair sits 90 per cent finished because the reinstatement line marking is a separate contractor, on a separate call-out, in a separate week. Every one of those handovers is a program risk and in a subcontracted model that risk belongs to the client.
Action LSC was built to close those gaps. Six specialist service lines, each with dedicated crews, plant and management, under one contract and one safety system. Any single discipline can still be engaged on its own and often is. But when a program needs four of them, the sequencing becomes our problem to solve rather than the clients to manage.

Yatala, Virginia and Mackay in Queensland. Gregory Hills in New South Wales. Beard in the ACT. Lonsdale and Gepps Cross in South Australia.
Those depots are supported by access to more than 40 additional Altus Group depots nationally, which is how work outside the immediate footprint gets serviced without standing up a permanent presence for every program. Across all locations the workforce exceeds 100 people, including more than 50 line marking operators, guardrail and civil crews, bridge maintenance crews and sign technicians.
